After a comfortable recovery from your outbound flight and your first night in India, you'll be taken to the train station. A train journey of approximately 4.5 hours (12:45 PM - 5:13 PM) will take you to your first tiger destination: Ranthambore National Park. The train ride itself is an experience. As the sights pass by, you can chat with fellow travelers. Most Indians speak good English, making it easy to learn more about each other's countries and cultures. The trains themselves are quite old and certainly not the cleanest in the world, but it's still a very enjoyable experience. Upon arrival in Sawai Madhopur, you'll be taken to your accommodation.

Early in the morning, you will embark on a safari with an experienced naturalist in Ranthambore National Park in the state of Rajasthan. The safari is conducted in a private jeep. Ranthambore covers an area of ​​approximately 410 km² and is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. This park is one of the most beautiful in North India and one of the best places in the world to view tigers in the wild. In addition to tigers, the park is also home to a wide variety of deer, birds, and reptiles. After the morning safari, a delicious meal awaits you at your accommodation, where you can relax for a few hours. A second safari in the park is scheduled for the afternoon.

This morning, you'll enjoy your final safari in the park, named after the Ranthambore Fort. In addition to tigers, you'll also encounter spotted and sambar deer, Indian antelopes, nilgai, leopards, hyenas, foxes, desert lynxes, swamp cats, and honey badgers. Afterward, you'll be driven to Agra in just over six hours for the next highlight of the trip.

Note: If today is Thursday, you'll visit the Taj Mahal this afternoon, as it's closed to the public on Fridays.

Tip: When visiting the Taj Mahal, only essential items are allowed inside. Leave any bags in the car. Your guide will inform you in advance. It's also good to know that touring the Taj Mahal can take a maximum of three hours. This is a new rule to prevent overcrowding on the grounds.

Early in the morning, to avoid the crowds, you'll visit the world-famous Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays). The Taj was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his late wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took nearly 20 years to complete. You'll be amazed by the beautiful details and perfect symmetry of this monument. Shah Jahan intended to build a similar monument for himself, but in black. However, it was never built. He is now interred in a mausoleum next to his wife's Taj Mahal. His tomb is the only thing in the entire building that breaks the symmetry. After the Taj Mahal, plan to visit the Red Fort.

After this visit, you'll be taken back to Delhi. Travel time depends largely on traffic, but allow approximately five hours. You will spend the night in a clean hotel near the airport.

Tip: Only essential items are allowed inside the Taj Mahal during your visit. Leave any bags in the car. Your guide will inform you in advance. It's also good to know in advance that the Taj Mahal tour time is limited to three hours. This new rule is in place to avoid overcrowding on the grounds.

You will be taken to the airport for your flight to Jabalpur. A driver will be waiting there to take you on the approximately five-hour, 220-kilometer journey to Bandhavgarh National Park. Located in the heart of Central India, this park is known for its rugged terrain and spectacular wildlife. You will check into your accommodation here, and then spend the rest of the evening relaxing.

Today, you will explore Bandhavgarh National Park with an expert ranger. Morning and evening safaris are planned. Located in Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh National Park covers approximately 437 km². The park has been a national park since 1968. Prior to that, it was the hunting ground of the Maharajas of Seva. The park is home to approximately 150 species of birds and animals, including deer, wild boar, leopards, wild dogs, hyenas, and jackals. However, tigers are the main attraction, with the highest tiger population in the park.

Today, you will enjoy two safaris in the park: early morning and late afternoon. In between, you can relax at your accommodation. Hopefully, you will be lucky enough to spot a tiger. In addition to tigers and the animals mentioned above, the park is also home to gaur (an Asian cattle species), macaques, caracals (also known as desert lynx), nilgai, sloth bears, Indian gazelles, and four-horned antelopes, some of the region's signature animals.

After a final morning safari in Bandhavgarh National Park and a delicious breakfast, your driver will take you to your next destination: Kanha National Park, the largest national park in Madhya Pradesh. Allow approximately 6 hours for this 265-kilometer journey. You will spend the night in a luxury cottage at Tuli Tiger Resort. The rest of the evening is free.

Kanha National Park spans 2,000 km² and ranges from 450 to 950 meters in elevation. It was the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling's famous novel, "The Jungle Book." The park is the sole habitat of the Barasingha, a swamp deer. The conservation of the Barasingha inspired the creation of Kanha National Park in 1955. And with success, the Barasingha is making a comeback. While the park's main attraction is its large population of Bengal tigers, it also boasts other interesting animals. In the Sal forests (in the lower part of the park), bamboo forests (in the upper part of the park), and vast open grasslands, you can also spot Indian leopards, various species of deer, sloth bears, Indian wild dogs, foxes, jackals, gaurs, and wild cats. Today, you'll enjoy two safaris: one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Today, there are two more safaris on the program. In addition to the animal species mentioned above, you'll also see over 300 bird species, including the Warty Ibis, the Colored Bee-eater, the Blossom-headed Parakeet, the Oriental Pied Hornbill, and many, many others. Don't forget to bring your binoculars!

After the final safari in Kanha National Park and a delicious breakfast as a reward, you'll leave Kanha and travel approximately 4.5 hours to Pench, where you'll spend the next two nights. Pench National Park is named after the Pench River, which flows north to south through the park. It lies on the southern border between the states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, in the Seoni and Chhindwara districts.

Today, you'll enjoy two safaris in Pench National Park. The park has a diverse flora, open fields, wooded areas, and over 1,200 species of plants. You have a good chance of spotting a tiger today, as many are found within the park. Incidentally, Pench, like Kanha, is also believed to be the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book." Who knows? It's truly beautiful, with both moist, secluded valleys and dry deciduous forests with scrubby undergrowth. The open grasslands offer ample views, so you're likely to spot wildlife. Over 1,200 different plant species have been found here.

Early in the morning, you'll enjoy your final safari in Pench National Park. Pench has the largest number of herbivores of any Indian park, including the Chital (also called Spotted Deer) and Sambar (also called Aristoteles or Horse Deer). In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Nagpur Airport for your domestic flight to Delhi. You will then be transferred to your hotel near the airport.
