- This tour showcases our preferred luxury hotels. If we change your accommodations to only hotels in the Oberoi chain, you'll receive a slight discount on the tour price; however, we feel you'll miss out on some unique experiences.
Upon your arrival at New Delhi International Airport, you'll be greeted by our representative with a warm "Namaste," which means "welcome" in Hindi, and then you'll be taken to your hotel with your private chauffeur & car.
A relaxing day. You'll stay at The Leela Palace, a hotel with a beautiful rooftop pool. It's an ideal place to recover from your flight. You won't miss anything here. As an option (not currently included), we can book an afternoon city tour with a private driver and guide, a food and beverage tour, or a rickshaw ride in Old Delhi. Please ask your travel specialist.
After breakfast, you'll drive approximately four hours to Agra. Upon arrival, you'll visit the world-famous Taj Mahal (closed every Fridays). The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal for his late wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took approximately 20 years to complete. You will be amazed by the beautiful details and perfect symmetry incorporated into this monument. Shah Jahan even intended to build a similar monument for himself, but in black. However, it was never completed. He is interred in a mausoleum within the Taj Mahal, next to his wife. His tomb is the only thing that breaks the symmetry in the entire building. After the Taj Mahal, a visit to the Red Fort is a must. You will spend the night at the luxurious Oberoi Amarvilas, where every room offers a direct view of the Taj Mahal.Tip: Only essential items are allowed inside the Taj Mahal. Leave any bags in the car. Your guide will inform you of this fact in advance. It's also helpful to know that the Taj Mahal's visiting time is limited to three hours. This is a new rule to prevent overcrowding on the grounds.
Today, the journey continues to Ranthambore National Park, taking approximately 6 hours. Along the way, you'll visit the town of Fatehpur Sikri, the "abandoned city." Water shortages have left this former capital of the Mughal Empire deserted. Drive continue to Ranthambore (Sawai Madhopur) National Park. You can spend the evening relaxing. You'll stay in a luxuriously furnished, air-conditioned tent at Sher Bagh. The quiet location of this small accommodation allows you to fully immerse yourself in nature. This accommodation provides an ideal respite from the hectic pace of Delhi and Agra. All (delicious) meals are included during your stay at Sher Bagh.
Note: Ranthambore is closed from July to September every year.
Early in the morning, you'll embark on a safari in Ranthambore National Park with an experienced jungle safari. If possible, we will reserve a private jeep for you. However, this option is very limited. If such an arrangement is not possible, you will share a jeep with a maximum of 6 people. Ranthambore National Park covers an area of approximately 410 km² and is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The park is one of the best places in the world to see Bengal tigers and is one of northern India's most beautiful. In addition to tigers, the park is also home to a wide variety of deer, birds, and reptiles. After the morning safari, a delicious meal awaits you at your accommodation, where you can relax for a few hours. A second safari in the park is scheduled for the afternoon.
Today, your private driver will take you on a 3-hour drive to Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan. It's also known as the "Pink City" because its buildings are made of pink sandstone. After arriving, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing. For example, you can visit the Art Museum, the Govind Dev Ji Temple, or go shopping in Johari Bazaar. At times, you'll see camels strolling along the streets, sometimes accompanied by carts.
The luxurious Oberoi Rajvilas Hotel is the place to stay overnight.
In the morning, you'll visit the Amer Fort, located on a hill outside the city, with a guide. A jeep will be waiting at the bottom of the hill to take you to the fort. You'll have plenty of time to explore. In the afternoon, a city tour of Jaipur is planned. You'll visit the city's landmark, the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), as well as the City Palace and Observatory. Be sure to visit the small Textile Museum inside the City Palace. Here you'll see the clothes worn by the former Maharajas of Jaipur, including one who weighed nearly 250 kg!
Note: We deliberately chose to travel to Amer by jeep. The elephants are treated poorly. Furthermore, the waiting time for an elephant is long, and you'll encounter problems with vendors.
After breakfast, a long day's drive awaits you. In 7-8 hours, you will reach Udaipur, one of India's most beautiful cities with its lakes and classic buildings. In the evening, you will take a boat trip on Lake Pichola. You will stay at the Taj Lake Palace, a palace built specifically in the middle of the lake. This palace was built in 1743 as the summer home of the then Maharaja. Today, it is a luxurious hotel. Did you know that we filmed several scenes from the James Bond film Octopussy (1983) at this palace?
The day begins with a visit to two fascinating villages outside Udaipur: Eklingji and Nagda. Eklingji is known for the 108 temples in the area. In Nagda, you will see the erotic sculptures of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Then, you will return to Udaipur to explore the city. Beautiful palaces and whitewashed houses make Udaipur one of the most romantic cities in Rajasthan. You'll visit the City Palace, Saheliyon Ki Bari (Garden of the Maidens), and the Jagdish Temple, among other sights.
Tip: Do you prefer a more active itinerary? We can also include a guided bike tour of the Lake District outside Udaipur.
In the morning, you'll enjoy a comfortable stay at your hotel. In the afternoon, you'll be transferred to Udaipur Airport for your domestic flight to Delhi. You will be taken to the JW Marriott Aero City Hotel, which is close to the airport, upon your arrival.
